Duplicate a previously edited layout
Custom key sets are tied to a layout. If I am in playground and select "Options" from the Settings tab and click "add/remove keys", a copy of the current layout is created that can be edited to add and/or remove keys. This is awesome! If I make a copy of that key set, it will also be tied to the same layout that we edited above. The Problem: ***************************************************************** If I want to add and/or remove keys for this new key set, my only option is to edit the layout, which will be changed for both key sets. This is not always ideal. Sometimes I want to add 1 or more keys to add support for duplicates of keys for colour options, etc. But making changes to the layout that is tied to both key sets means the first key set will now also have additional (or fewer) keys. Request: ********************************************************************** When editing a layout, what would be great is if we could save the layout as a copy, which would break the connection of the first layout to the current key set. That would let me add/remove keys without affecting the other key set. For example, I create key set 1 (KS1), then edit the layout (Layout1) with "add/remove keys" at some point. Then I duplicate KS1, as KS2, and then want to edit the layout for KS2, which is currently Layout1. I should be able to have an option so that Layout1 gets duplicated as Layout2 and then that would now be tied to KS2. That would really help when making a serious of similar key sets that have different options. Workarounds: ***************************************************************** Right now, I can almost accomplish this in 1 of 2 ways: When I think I may want to make a copy, duplicate my key set to which I would like to add more keys, then go to the homepage, select any pre-made layout, then in the playground edit the layout. None of the content edits from the key set would survive, but the colours and templates would still be there. If I just want to add a few keys, duplicate my key set to which I would like to add more keys, then go to the homepage, select any pre-made layout, then in the playground edit the layout. I could then remove all of the keys that are already in the other key set and specify just the keys I want to "add". Option 1 will mean a LOT more work, essentially duplicating the layout changes made in the original key set, with whatever changes I want to add/remove, and then re-doing all of the content changes I did in the original key set. I've done this; I hate it. Option 2 is much less work, but may not be possible. If I just want to add 3 or 4 keys, for example, I wouldn't be able to add that to the cart. So, instead I would have to endure option 1, or accept I have duplicate/unnecessary keys in a key set that I'd be paying for. It would be so much better to be able to make a duplicate of the current layout.
