Add-on kits to extend the layout support
E
Let's say I use TKL and 65%. It would be beneficial if I could buy both the full RightShift used in the former as well as a shorter RightShift and 1u (Fn) modifier. I wish I could add more "add-ons" than just 7u botom row, basically. Just let us add more things on. At most this might mean a kit builder but if not that then options to add on more kits would be good (basically, make it more GMK-y).

If I could upvote this more than once I would. I just want the ability to freely add any supported key to any base set when i create a custom set. Right now each tempate's settings are way too limited.
Perhaps this isn't a free for all just add anything feature like adding a whole new set of custom. alphas, but then why not? We would be charged the extra keycap prices anyways. This way I could build a base set and then add a custom alpha set without having to design a separate set with extra mods I don't need.
In reality though I find that I usually want to add 40s support to a 60s base kit or extend an existing 40s kit with a few more keys. I'd be happy if I could do that limited customization without having to request a new template.

I am trying to put together a base kit, I'd love to get some feedback on this: https://yuzukeycaps.com/keyboards/id167
it would be priced $140-160, would love your input on that too
E
Simon Tarchichi That's pretty much perfect for me. I think it's much more normal to buy a bigger base kit than one strictly needs, because it gives us flexibilty for the future.
The only feedback on your base kit linked here is it would be kind of nice if we could have the option to omit a numpad. Can't speak for everyone but personally I nearly never use it and it'd presumably save a bit of cost if omitted.

E I had the same thought. I also don't need a numpad.
By the way, where is the ISO R4 1U ? There is an extra B that could be used as such but I don't really want to use it for that purpose, in case we want to do both split LS and split RS.
Other than that, I think you covered most of my expectations.

thanks WiBla and E for your feedback, super valuable!
you are right, I removed the numpad from the base kit to shave off $20, so it's now $115
I also added the ISO R4 1u that I forgot!
this is not advertised yet, but will be soon, thanks guys for your input! send an email to contact@yuzukeycaps.com for an extra $20 off if you wish to order one of these kits :)

Very specifically interested in addons, NOT alternative layouts.

gotcha, I believe for this kind of feature I am going to need help to prepare those kits/add-ons so I will prepare a UI so people can build their own layouts, and include them as extensions based on that input
I will notify you (and other upvoters/commenters) when this is ready, thanks for your input!
